How To Find Us

Design by My Life ‘Xpressed with graphics from Steel City Scraps and Trina Clark

This Egg Shaped Eco birth pool comes in regular or mini, and is perfect for labour and giving birth.

The Regular Eco pool has an internal seat and top handles as standard. An internal seat is great to sit on after birth while you bond with your newborn. Use the top handles for stability while floating face-up in the water and as a leverage point to give you control when you want to change position.

Regular pool is best suited for mothers over 5ft 6" tall (
I used the regular and at 5ft 11” it was more than big enough for me).

The birth pool in a box comes with a disposable liner for enhanced safety
One disposable liner is included with the regular and mini pool. Using a liner also means two "containers" for the water, giving added protection against water leaks.  If you are planning on enjoying your pool prior to birth it is advised to purchase an additional liner.

Deep enough to give bouyancy
The minimum recommended depth of water to provide bouyancy for a mother in labour is 18" (45cm) (Source: The Waterbirth Book by Janet Balaskas). The
birth pool in a box has an internal depth of 26" (66cm) and since the sides are stiff when inflated, you can fill water to a depth of 22".

Three independent chambers for improved safety
The sides of
birth pool in a box are made of 3 independent tubular chambers stacked on top of each other. If one of them should puncture by accident, only 1/3 of the wall height will be lost.

Comfortable and welcoming
This doesn't look like a medical device! It is welcoming and the inflated sides are comfortable to rest upon. This is conducive to your relaxation which will enhance the production of the hormone oxytocin, speeding up your labour.

Fast to inflate and fill
With the fast handpump provided free with the pool, it takes only 10 minutes to inflate the pool. Your mattress foot-pump or electric-pump may not be powerful enough to inflate the pool to full pressure. Water filling time depends on your hot-water system. This Regular pool holds the equivalent of approximately 4 bathtubs of water.

Choice of kits for filling and emptying your pool

There are two kits available.  The Basic Kit (£13.00) for filling your pool and the Standard Kit (£50.00) for both filling and emptying your pool.  The following table shows the contents of each kit.
