I’ve been told my baby is breech but I don’t want a C-Section
In preparation for birthing, sometime between the 32nd and 37th weeks of pregnancy, your baby turns from it’s upright position into what is called a vertex position in preparation for birthing.
Most of the time this happens without you realising, especially if it occurs whilst you are sleeping. However, sometimes this turn can be delayed.
If you are experiencing fear or tension, or if there are circumstances that are upsetting you, your uterus may become taut and restrict your baby from turning. Your baby’s buttocks remain at the neck of your uterus in what is called the ‘breech presentation’. Sometimes the baby completes only a partial rotation, leaving a shoulder, an arm or one or both feet positioned in the lower part of the cervix.
Generally if your baby is in breech position you are informed that you will have to have a cesarean birth. However, before resorting to this option you may want to consider using the help of HypnoBirthing® techniques to turn your baby.
“Just a quick line to say thanks for helping me turn this baby out of breech position, he is still head down but showing no signs at the moment of wanting to emerge!!!!!! Because of this we have had to have a late scan and the sonographer was surprised to note that the baby was breech initially and of course I mentioned you and how the hypnotism had turned him round. The great news is that the the sonographer and in fact everyone I've mentioned hypnobirthing® to at the hospital has been very receptive, with one student midwife (or doctor, she may have been, I'm not too sure ) saying that they had one lady in who'd done a hypnobirthing course and they didn't even know she was in labour until they examined her, because she was so quiet*.

This is a special breech turn session which has proven to be very effective in helping the breech-presented baby to spontaneously reposition into vertex position on its own. Dr. Lewis Mehl-Madronna carried out a study of 200 women, a 100 women of which were given hypnotherapy, the remaining 100 were not although some did receive ECV (external cephalic version), a procedure whereby the baby’s head is manually manipulated from outside the abdomen. Of the 100 women that received hypnotherapy 81 of the breech babies turned spontaneously. In the comparison group only 26 babies turned spontaneously.
How many sessions will I need and where are they held?
One 60-90 minute session is normally all that is required to turn the baby into correct position. All sessions take place in the relaxed comfortable atmosphere of my home in Sidcup .
Skype sessions now also available
Having successful trialed the use of Skype with my Fertility clients this is now a very real option for anyone wishing to see me for other forms of hypnotherapy where distance once may have proved prohibitive.
How much does it cost?
I charge £75 per session (if you have attended a HypnoBirthing® course or Hypno 4 Birth sessions with me these sessions will be charged at £50).
